Kiosk Mode can be configured on both groups and on individual ungrouped devices:

  2. Select the Headset Experience tab.

  3. Select ArborXR Kiosk Mode.

Designate the Kiosk App

⚠️ Kiosk Mode does not currently support Videos or WebXR Links.

Under Kiosk App, designate a single managed app or unmanaged app as the kiosk app:

  1. Click on Managed Apps to expand the section then select a managed app to designate it as the kiosk app.

  2. Click on Unmanaged Apps to expand the section then select an unmanaged app to designate it as the kiosk app.

πŸ’‘ For more information about unmanaged apps, see this article.

Configure In-VR Shortcut Settings

Under Settings, click Show Shortcuts to expand the section then select the settings users should have access to within ArborXR's quick access menu. Your list of available options will vary depending on the device type.

πŸ’‘ The quick access menu opens on pressing the home button (a) on the right hand controller or (b) on the headset. For more information about settings shortcuts, see this article.

Configure Admin PIN

Click Admin PIN to expand the section then optionally lock ArborXR's Advanced Settings menu with a 4 to 10 digit numeric PIN.

πŸ’‘ While devices are configured to Kiosk Mode, Advanced Settings can be accessed via the quick access menu. The quick access menu opens on pressing the home button (a) on the right hand controller or (b) on the headset. For more information about Advanced Settings, see this article.

Configure Environment

Under Appearance click Background to expand the section.

πŸ’‘ While devices are configured to Kiosk Mode, the background environment is shown when ArborXR's quick access menu is opened. The quick access menu opens on pressing the home button (a) on the right hand controller or (b) on the headset.

Option 1: ArborXR Lounge

  1. Select ArborXR Lounge, if it is not already selected.

  2. Scroll down and click Apply Changes.

Option 2: 360Β° Image

  1. Select 360Β° Background.

  2. Upload a custom 360Β° image to be used as the background environment for ArborXR Home. The maximum supported image file size is 200 MB.

  3. Scroll down and click Apply Changes.

Customize the Colors

Under the Appearance section, select Colors.

Option A: Select from Existing Template

Select the desired template then scroll down and click Apply.

Option B: Create Custom Template

Within the Colors section click Customize Colors. This will reveal the various elements of the in-VR UI that you're able to customize.

  1. Customize each of the six sections by entering the desired color hex or select the color square itself to expand it.

  2. You will notice a Contrast rating beneath some of these values. To ensure the comfort of your users, we've developed this color customization feature with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in mind.

    1. Contrast: Low - We recommend increasing the contrast for accessibility purposes.

    2. Contrast: AA - Accompanied by a green checkmark, this is the best contrast ratio you can achieve.

πŸ’‘ We will not prevent you from using colors combinations that do not meet WCAG. We only issue accessibility warnings.

  3. After you've customized your theme, you can click Apply your changes or Save this template for use on other devices and device groups.

    1. To Save a customized theme, select the πŸ’Ύ icon.

    2. A modal will appear and you will be given the option to name your theme.

    3. Once saved, your customized theme will be selectable in the Colors section anywhere within your organization.

⚠️ Up to two custom themes can be saved. They cannot be edited or deleted.

Configure Language

Click Quick Access Menu to expand the section then configure the desired Language for Kiosk Mode's quick access menu and Advanced Settings.

πŸ’‘ Supported languages include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Hindi, Korean, Chinese (Traditional), and Japanese.
