Overview

While in ArborXR Home and ArborXR Kiosk Mode, our Home app will override the Quest device's app menu. This is to ensure that the user is kept within the chosen Headset Experience. However, on Meta Quest devices, there are a few options available to take a screenshot. See below to learn more!

Using the Quest controller in ArborXR Home/ArborXR Kiosk Mode

  • Taking a screenshot:

    • Quickly click the Oculus Home ('O') button on the right-hand controller THEN quickly press and release the front trigger on the controller.

  • Taking a screen recording:

    • To Start a recording, quickly press the Oculus Home ('O') button on the right-hand controller, THEN quickly press and release the front trigger on the controller. A yellow dot will first appear, with a notification indicating the recording has started, followed shortly by a red dot, indicating the recording is active.

    • To Stop the recording, simply repeat the same button presses.

With both options above, once completed, you should receive an in-headset notification from the Quest OS. It should disappear within a few seconds.

Temporarily Exiting ArborXR Home / ArborXR Kiosk Mode

Alternatively, you can temporarily exit ArborXR Home or ArborXR Kiosk Mode. See both of the articles below to learn more:

From there, you can interact with the Quest OS' Camera app, or the steps detailed above also work within the Quest Home Environment. See the included links to reference Meta's documentation on taking screenshots here and screen recording here.
