Temporarily Exit ArborXR Home

Steps to exit ArborXR Home temporarily to access the device's native home environment.

Written by Anthony Gallardo

💡Temporarily exiting ArborXR Home to access the device's native home environment is a useful feature, as this enables the management of device settings that cannot be managed directly within ArborXR Home.

On Horizon managed services devices, it is not possible to access the native home environment when devices are configured to ArborXR Home (i.e., Meta's Shared Mode), only Meta's Shared Mode Launcher will appear.

Learn more about Shared Mode and Individual Mode on Meta Horizon managed services devices here.

Exit ArborXR Home

  1. Select Advanced Settings (cog icon) in the bottom left corner of ArborXR Home.

  2. Select View Advanced Settings:

    1. If an admin PIN is not enforced: select View Advanced Settings.

    2. If an admin PIN is enforced: select Unlock Advanced Settings, then enter the admin PIN and click Unlock Settings.

  3. Select Exit ArborXR Home.

  4. Select Continue.

💡 After you click Continue, PICO devices on PUI 5+ and Meta Quest devices (non-HMS) on Horizon OS v76+ will restart and boot into their default home environment. HMS Meta Quest devices will boot into Meta's Shared Mode Launcher.

Upon exiting, ArborXR Home's enforcement will be deactivated, including overriding the home button, until the ArborXR Home app is manually re-launched via the device's native app library.

Return to ArborXR Home

ArborXR's ArborXR Home app should be available from the device's respective app library. If you cannot locate your device's respective app library, refer to the device manufacturer's website for further assistance locating the device's app library.

💡 After you click on the ArborXR Home app, PICO devices on PUI 5+ and Meta Quest devices on Horizon OS v76+ will restart and boot into ArborXR Home. The device may reboot a second time by Meta before returning to ArborXR Home.
