Who can use this feature?

👤 Organizations Owners, Admins, Members & Facilitators.
🚩 Available on the Essential and Enterprise Plans.

Overview

💡 Remote View is in beta. We are actively listening to feedback from users to improve the feature and we will be making changes and improvements over the next few weeks.

At launch, Remote View is available for all non-Quest devices only. Once Meta makes this functionality available to MDMs, we’ll also support Quest devices!

With Remote View, you can cast the device’s output to the ArborXR Web Portal over Wi-Fi. This functionality is crucial for guiding users through VR experiences, as well as providing remote support and troubleshooting.

This feature is supported on the following devices:

  • PICO 4 Enterprise

  • PICO G3

  • VIVE XR Elite

  • Lenovo VRX

  • VIVE Focus 3

  • DPVR

  • PICO Neo 3 Pro

  • PICO Neo 2

  • PICO G24K

  • Phones and tablets

  • VIVE Flow (on OS version 2.18 and higher)

Using a device that isn’t listed above? Contact us to inquire about support.

⚠️ In order to use this feature, URL stun:stun.cloudflare.com:3478 must be whitelisted in your network. For more information on the URLs and ports required by ArborXR, see this article.

Facilitator Role

Often, the individuals that configure devices' content and settings are not the same individuals that facilitate sessions. With this in mind, we've introduced a new role, Facilitator, so that certain users' access can be limited to only casting devices and remotely launching content.

For more information about managing users, see this article.

Cast Multiple Devices

  1. Navigate to Groups in the side navigation menu.

  2. Select the Group in question.

  3. Select one or multiple devices.

  4. Click Actions.

  5. Click Cast Devices.

  6. On certain devices, such as PICO 4 Enterprise, VIVE Focus 3, and tablets, a system dialog will open prompting users for permission to cast. Users must select Start Now.

⚠️ If users select Cancel, the device must be rebooted and device casting via the ArborXR web portal must be re-initiated for this dialog to open once more.

  7. Remotely launching content, be it an app, video, or WebXR link, is a feature that goes hand in hand with Remote View. To that end, we've conveniently included a Launch Content button directly in the cast view.

Cast Single Device

  1. Navigate to Devices in the side navigation menu.

  2. Select the device in question.

  3. Click Cast Device.

  5. Remotely launching content, be it an app, video, or WebXR link, is a feature that goes hand in hand with Remote View. To that end, we've conveniently included a Launch Content button directly in the cast view.
