Can PC-based streaming be initiated when devices are configured to ArborXR Home or Kiosk Mode?

In most cases, no. PC-based streaming (which leverages a PC's hardware for rendering) typically bypasses the headset's native Android OS. Because ArborXR Home and Kiosk Mode run on top of that Android layer, they are usually disabled when a tethered session begins.

However, there is an exception for Meta Quest:

Meta Quest Devices (Horizon OS v85+)

For Quest devices running Horizon OS v85 or higher, users can now access Quest Link while Arbor Home or Kiosk Mode is active.

  • How to access: Press the Home button on the touch controller to open the Meta settings menu, where Quest Link can be selected.

PICO and HTC Devices

PC-based streaming is not supported on PICO or HTC devices when they are configured to Arbor Home or Kiosk Mode. This includes:

To use these streaming services on PICO or HTC hardware, the device must be returned to its native manufacturer launcher.
