⚠️ This article is deprecated and no longer relevant for Meta Quest device enrollment.

As of February 26, 2025, Meta has changed how Quest devices enroll into ArborXR. To enroll, you’ll need to use ArborXR’s integration with Horizon managed services. This may come with changes to pricing, privacy, and agreements, as enrollment will be managed through Meta’s system.

Helpful resources:

  • Head over to our blog for existing customers to learn how these changes affect your current deployment and device management.

  • See this help article for steps to enroll Quest devices into ArborXR using Horizon managed services.

When using a Meta Quest device with ArborXR, you need a verified Meta account in an Oculus/Quest Developer Organization. This allows you to enable Developer Mode on each Meta account that you log into each device.

If you can't see the Developer Mode toggle under Menu > Devices > Select your device > Developer Mode (see example below) in the Meta Horizon (formerly Meta Quest) mobile app, try these troubleshooting steps:

Force close the Meta Quest mobile app

If you've set up SMS text message or credit card verification to Meta but still see the Get Started link in the app, force close the Android or iOS Meta Horizon companion app.

Enable text message two-factor authentication

  1. Log into your Meta account's Password and Security section then go to Two-factor authentication > Text messages.

  2. Complete the verification process.

💡 Meta does not support app-based 2FA for identity verification (e.g. Google Authenticator, Authy, etc).

Contact Meta Support

If the above doesn't resolve the issue, contact Meta Support or Oculus Developer Support. Further investigation may be needed by their team.
