Steps to create and manage device custom fields.

Overview

Extend ArborXR’s functionality with Custom Fields for devices. This powerful addition allows you to create custom attributes for your devices, enabling more detailed organization, search, and reporting.


Create Custom Fields & Assign Values

  1. Click on a device.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Under the Custom Fields section, click + New Field.

  4. Enter a title for the custom field then click Create.
    ​


    πŸ’‘Creating a custom field on a device adds the field to the entire fleet of devices in the organization.


  5. Enter a value for the custom field then click Save.
    ​

πŸ’‘ Repeat step 5 across each device that needs to be assigned a value. ​


Display Custom Field Columns in the Devices Table

  1. Select Devices & Groups in the side navigation menu.

  2. Select All Devices or a device group.

  3. Click on the View button in the top right hand corner of the devices table.
    ​

  4. Select the checkbox next to the custom fields you'd like to display as columns in the table.
    ​


Filter Devices by Custom Fields

  1. Click on the filters icons in the far right of the search box.

  2. Custom fields will be displayed at the bottom of the list of filters.


Rename a Custom Field

  1. Click on a device.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Click on the edit icon next to the custom field you'd like to rename.

  4. Edit the title then click Save.


Delete Custom Fields

  1. Click on a device.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Click on the edit icon next to the custom field you'd like to delete.
    ​

  4. Select Delete Custom Field.

  5. Enter the name of the field then select Delete.
    ​

Yes.

Can I search the devices table by custom field values?

Yes.
