Overview

With ArborXR's WebXR support, you can create WebXR links, remotely assign them to devices, and configure devices to show shortcuts to WebXR links in ArborXR Home, so users can one-click-launch.

Create WebXR Links

  1. Navigate to Content Library in the side navigation menu.

  2. Click the Add Content button.

  3. Click WebXR Link.

  4. Enter the Title of your WebXR Link.

  5. Enter the URL of your WebXR Link.

  6. Click the Add button. You will now be directed to the WebXR Link entry.

πŸ’‘NOTE: You can optionally upload an icon for your Web XR Link by clicking on the camera icon within the WebXR Link entry.

Devices & Details Tabs

  • Devices tab: Assign WebXR Links to device groups or ungrouped devices.

    • For more information about device groups, see our articles in the Groups collection.

  • Details tab: Modify the Title, URL, and Description, and assign Tags.

    • Title: The title of the WebXR Link as it will be seen in VR.

    • URL: The WebXR URL can be modified here.

    • Description: The description entered in the Description input is user-facing within VR if using ArborXR Home.

    • Tags: Tags are a way for the dashboard and ArborXR Home users to filter content. For more information on how to use this feature, check out our article on Tags.

Launch WebXR Links in Wolvic

If Wolvic is installed on devices, webXR links launched via ArborXR Home will open in the Wolvic browser instead of the device's native browser.

Why Wolvic?

  1. Wolvic supports kiosk mode so users can't navigate away from the webXR experience and browse the web. Native browsers, like Quest Browser and PICO Browser, do not support kiosk mode.

  2. On Meta Quest OS v55 and higher, you cannot enter "VR Mode" on the Quest browser when WebXR links are launched via ArborXR.

Install Wolvic to Devices

  1. Download the Wolvic .apk (Download the Gecko Based version, the Chromium Based version does not yet support immersive video).

  2. Upload the Wolvic .apk to your ArborXR Content Library.

  3. Install Wolvic to devices.

  4. Within Headset Experience > ArborXR Home > Managed Apps, uncheck the checkbox next to the Wolvic app. This will hide the Wolvic app in ArborXR Home. Users can launch the WebXR Link shortcuts displayed in ArborXR Home to open the web link in a 'kiosked' window within Wolvic.

⚠️ On PICO Neo 3 and PICO G3, controllers are not rendering in Wolvic so users cannot interact with the webXR experience. This is not a bug with ArborXR and instead is a bug with Wolvic. We have notified Wolvic of this issue and encourage others to do likewise.
