Captive portals are supported across all device types. Behavior across device types may differ. In most cases, you will be taken to the device's native browser and placed directly on the landing page for your captive portal. After a successful login, you’ll be automatically returned to the ArborXR headset experience.

💡 NOTE: As of firmware version 5.0.999.558, the Vive Focus 3 will use the VIVE Browser to complete captive portal requests. If you are on an earlier firmware version, Firefox Reality Browser will be used. Both flows are documented here.

Firmware Version 5.0.999.558 and above

Upon selecting an WiFi SSID, you’ll be prompted to launch the browser. The latest firmware version will always use the VIVE Browser.

Once the browser is launched, log into the captive portal. You’ll be returned to ArborXR WiFi settings once complete.

Firmware Version 5.0.999.514 and below

The device will launch the Firefox Reality Browser to complete the captive portal flow. Please note that if your captive portal is not HTTPS, you may see the following message displayed. You will need to advance to the captive portal landing page manually.

  1. Select Advanced

  2. Select “Accept the Risk and Continue”

  3. Log into your captive portal. Upon completion, you’ll be returned to ArborXR WiFi settings.
