What changed?
We changed how a device's Network Portal Detection lookup is handled. Previously, we relied on the device's default Network Portal Detection lookup but have changed this to our own service.
Why did this change?
We implemented this change due to feedback we’ve received from customers with enterprise WiFi networks. To be specific. Pico devices by default use a Network Portal Detection lookup located on a server in China. This is a showstopper for customers with enterprise WiFi networks configured to backlist all traffic from China. To workaround this issue, we have implemented our own Network Portal Detection lookup located on a server in the US.
What do I need to do?
If your organization has a strict policy of whitelisting domains, please add arborxrstatic.com to your network's whitelist.
If your organization does not have an enterprise WiFi configuration with a strict policy of whitelisting domains, no further action is required.
How did this change roll out?
This change was included with build 2021.44.0 of the client app, which rolled out Wednesday, November 3rd. Devices will silently self-update to this build the next time they come online and connect to our servers.
